A little sip of Paris

enderflower2

I had the best weekend last weekend and I think it’s because it all started with this delicious and simple cocktail! 🙂  (Isn’t Winston the cutest in the background?!  I had to include him in the photo!  In fact, I think he’s eyeing my cocktail!!!!!)

As always, I was browsing the “NEW ITEMS” section at our local Trader Joe’s and saw this new drink: Lemon Elderflower Soda.  Now if you have ever had St. Germain, you need to!  If a bar menu has any drink with St. Germain in it, I instantly order one.  It’s a gorgeous French liqueur made from fresh, hand-picked elderflowers.  So when I found this little soda, already flavored with elderflower, I said, “Oh yes!  You are coming home with me and I am going to find a nice little place in my pantry for you!”  IMG_3873

Friday was our regular Bridge night.  No, not that famous card game.  In fact we don’t even touch anything that has a heart, diamond, spade or club…unless it’s served on a plate :).  In our city of Portland, the city is split down the middle by the Willamette river.  I live on the west side where there are lots of delicious restaurants that we frequent often in the Pearl District or Downtown.  BUT!  The east side as SOOO MANY amazing and creative food possibilities!  So, my girl, Melanie came up with the title of Bridge Night, meaning we go OVER a bridge to get to our next foodie experience!  And so began the tradition of 7 girls, getting together and exploring the gourmet possibilities on the other side of the river.

Before we hit the road for Bridge Night, we start with a little ‘pre-funk’ which consists of a little sipping and a little mingling.  After my visit to Trader Joe’s, I knew I needed to bring and test this amazing beverage on my girls!

enderflower1Well, it was a hit!  And a perfect, refreshing drink to start our evening.  It’s a little lemon, a little bubbles and a little gin.  Oh my!  What a combo!  And the best part, it is SO SOOOOOO EASY!  I highly recommend it.  Grab a 4 pack and try it out after your next visit to Trader Joe’s!  Oh so yummy!

A Piece of Paris

  • 1 part gin
  • 2 parts Lemon Enderflower Soda
  • 1 slice of lemon

Fill glass with ice, pour gin and soda over ice.  Stir and garnish with a slice of lemon floating on top!  Santé

  1. Bridge night is such a great idea! When I lived in New York, a few friends and I did something similar: We’d go for dinner in a different borough each month. We got to eat a lot of new cuisines that way.

    1. I love that you said MOST! 😉 It’s so true. Not all cocktails are created equal! LOL! I had a Grapefruit Basil Martini last night…way too sugary. But I’ve been in a grapefruit mood lately…so tonight i’ll be sipping a Paloma with my tacos! Hope you have some tasty treats this weekend!
